It’s that time again fellow trainers! A new Pokémon Presents premiered on July 22nd. While on the shorter side, it did showcase a few cool projects in the works and even revealed bits of new info for upcoming games. Let’s take a look at some highlights!
The Road to the Championships
The 2025 world championships are taking place in Anaheim, California on Aug 15-17. On top of participants getting a special promo card, Championship Sunday is due to be hosted in an Arena for the first time ever! Those in attendance will also earn a special Toadscool for Scarlet & Violet. It’s sure to be an exciting time, with even more fun stuff in store for those who watch the livestreams.
Viva la Animation!
On the animation front, we got a couple of exciting updates. Pokémon Concierge, the chill series about working at a resort, is returning with more episodes on September 4th! Get ready for more relaxing adventures with Haru and co. Also on the horizon is The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d and Pichu, a brand new series being developed by Aardman(Chicken Run, Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl and more). This new series, which promises to show the world from the perspective of Pokémon, is due to release in 2027.
Time to Play!
Naturally, it’s not a Pokémon Presents, if we don’t talk about the games we all know and love. Several of them are getting new updates and additions in the foreseeable future.
Pokémon GO players can expect a dynamaxed time at Pokémon GO Fest Max Finale! From August 18 to 24, players can expect a surge of Dynamax and Gigantimax Pokémon to appear all over. In addition, the legendary Eternatus from the Pokémon Sword and Shield games is due to make its debut. Don’t miss out on this exciting event!
The other mobile games aren’t getting left out either. Cafe Remix is receiving a sea themed update with new outfits for a variety of Pokémon as well as the addition of Lapras.
Visiting the world of dreams in September are the Legendary Beasts: Raikou, Entei and Suicune. All coming to Pokémon Sleep soon.
Speaking of legendary additions, the Eon Duo, Latias and Latios will be coming to Pokémon Unite in time for its 4th anniversary. How will these two shake up the meta? We’ll have to see.
Finally Masters EX is receiving a new Sync Pair in the form of Carmine & Sinischa! Representing the Scarlet and Violet DLC, this new pair is sure to make an entrance.
Last but not Least
There are three more things I want to mention before I wrap this up. Firstly: Pokémon Friends. Pokémon Friends is a newly released puzzle game. Sit back, relax and solve a variety of puzzles. Collect plushies to customize your personal space as you progress. This chill game is available now on iOS and Android for free. It can also be purchased on Switch and comes with a DLC pack when you do.
Pokémon Champions, an upcoming battle sim, is slated for release sometime in 2026! New details revealed include being able to choose Pokémon in game and train them to fit your needs and strategies. By syncing with Pokémon Home, Pokémon from other games may be used as well. Expect further coverage on this upcoming title as we move closer to release.
Speaking of upcoming releases, Pokémon Legends Z-A had a little more info revealed. Highlights include new characters such Lida and Naveen, members of Team MZ who are tasked with investigating mysterious phenomena related to Mega Evolution. Other reveals include Corbeau, who leads the Rust Syndicate, as well as familiar faces Mable and Emma, whom the player will be helping in their journey. There’s a lot more to uncover with Legends Z-A and they even introduced something players have been wanting for a while: A new Mega Evolution! I won’t spoil it here though, you’ll have to watch the Presents or look it up on your own. Also a Ralts with a Gardevoirite is available as a pre-order bonus. Suffice to say the future is looking pretty exciting. I can’t wait to talk about Legends Z-A more when it releases in October of this year.
Lots to get stoked about trainers! The Pokémon world is expanding every day. What are you most excited for? Let us know in the comments! Thank you for reading!
