Pokémon Presents: Legends A-Z updates and more!

Happy Pokémon Day! For those unaware, Feb 27th is the date that Pokémon Red & Green launched in Japan almost 30 years ago. Every year around this time, Pokémon Company does their annual Pokémon Presents presentation where the latest news and updates about all your Pokémon favorites are shared! Check out the 19 minute presentation and our coverage of it below!

Firstly, some updates regarding our favorite mobile games:

Pokémon GO is launching their Unova Tour! Featuring a number of Pokémon originally introduced in Black & White for GO players. Notably, Black Kyurem and White Kyurem are set to feature in raids and there will be chances to catch mythical Pokémon such as Victini

Pokémon Masters EX, the long running mobile game, will be receiving new sync pairs in the form of Ruby & Sapphire protagonists Brendon and May partnered with Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre respectively. The promotional images also feature Steven Stone paired with a Mega Rayquaza

Pokémon Unite will also be adding new faces to its roster in the form of Suicune(seen wearing a stylish outfit as well), the surfer mouse Alolan Raichu and the dessert themed Alcremie. Suicune is due to be added on Mar 1 with Raichu set for April and Alcremie at an unspecified later time

Pokémon Cafe ReMix is also getting a new update adding apple themed food to the menu. Appleton and Flapple will also be available as staff members and the Paldean starters can receive new staff outfits just by logging in

A Sinnoh update is due to hit both Pokémon Sleep and TCG Pocket. The relatively new and well liked Pokémon Sleep will appropriately be seeing a Cresselia vs Darkrai event as dreams and nightmares collide.

TCG Pocket will be receiving a new Arceus themed booster set named Triumphant Light. New “Link” abilities will headline the set alongside the Creator Pokémon and will be made available on Feb 28th, the day after the Pokémon Presents! In addition, players who log in now will receive three free Genetic Apex booster packs, all guaranteed to have a 4 diamond or higher rare. Don’t miss this chance to enhance your collection!

Finally, the presents caps off by revealing a brand new Pokémon game and sharing news regarding the highly anticipated Legends Z-A!

The newly announced Pokémon game is called Pokémon Champions and is focused specifically on Pokémon battles. Already drawing comparisons to games like Pokémon Stadium and Pokémon Battle Revolution, Champions will feature connectivity to Pokémon Home, allowing players to use their favorites from the mainline games. It’ll also apparently feature multiple battle gimmicks, as the teaser shows both Mega Evolution and Terastilization. Champions will be planned out by Game Freak with Pokémon Works set to develop. No release period has been announced as of yet but it’s slated to come to the Nintendo Switch family of consoles as well as Mobile.

Legends Z-A is said to take place entirely within Lumiose City, the main city of the Kalos region which was originally introduced in Pokémon X and Y back in 2013. The player will visit Lumiose which is currently undergoing an urban development plan meant to make the city more habitable for both humans and Pokémon. Players will have a choice of either Chikorita, Tepig or Totodile for their starter and will be able to catch Pokémon in designated “Wild Zones” throughout the city. The game will feature several returning Pokémon such as Sandile, Bunnelby, Fletchling, and more! The trailer also confirms the return of Mega Evolution, which hasn’t been seen in the series since Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee. Legends Z-A also promises to utilize a new dynamic battle system where players can move around and dodge, expanding on the type of battles seen in Legends Arceus. No formal release date has been announced yet but the Legends A-Z is currently set for a late 2025 release.

Lastly, players of Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet can receive a special themed version exclusive Rotom Phone case by entering a mystery gift code! SB00KC0VER for Scarlet and VB00KC0VER for Violet. No end date for this mystery gift has been listed. Additionally players can expect mass outbreaks for red, blue and green Pokémon as well as Tera Raids for the three fully evolved Paldean Starters with Mightiest Marks.

That’s all for today's Pokémon Presents coverage! Was there anything from the Pokémon Presents that you’re excited for in particular? Let us know in the comments and thanks for reading!
