Fellow Nintendo fans are gonna be in for some treats this holiday season. Nintendo recently had a massive showcase featuring indie games and select partner titles, which encompass a wide range of genres and playstyles. There’s a lot to get excited for!
Starting with the Indie World showcase, which focused on upcoming indie titles. Notable games of furry interest include:
- Neva - A beautiful looking game from the team that gave us the critically acclaimed GRIS. Neva follows the story of a woman named Alba who bonds with a wolf named Neva as the two embark on a perilous journey. Coming to Switch October 15, 2024
- Moth Kubit - An rpg about a bug who climbs the insect corporate ladder. Choices matter in this game where players uncover the truth behind the mysterious “final process”. Coming in Spring 2025
- Coffee Talk Tokyo - The latest visual novel in the Coffee Talk series, this game has players play as a barista who serves all kinds of supernatural customers. Coming in 2025
- Morsels - Play as a mouse in this top-down rogue-like and collect cards to transform into creatures called morsels and battle against the wicked cats forces. Coming in Feburary 2025
- Peglin - Play an adorable little goblin and fight against dragons in this unique pachinko inspired rpg. As of this writing, it released today August 27
- Pico Park 2 - Play with up to 8 friends in this adorable puzzle platformer and work together to navigate the games levels. Like Peglin, it released today August 27
- Cuisineer - An adorable roguelike which combines dungeon exploring and kitchen management. Play as an adorable cat girl and start a thriving restaurant business! Comes to Switch on Jan 28 2025
- On Your Tail - A story driven life sim where you play as Detective Diana and attempt to unmask a thief who is terrorizing a seaside town. Releases on November 21, 2024
- The Plucky Squire - An action adventure storybook game where the heroic Jot is kicked out of his own story and must defeat an evil wizard in order to restore the true ending. Releases Sep 17, 2024
And more! There's a few other interesting looking games in the Indie World Direct that I didn’t mention. Also PC fans don’t despair, many of these indie titles are also on Steam.
Today was a double feature as right after Indie World, Nintendo transitioned into its Partner Direct, which highlighted more well known titles. Those games include:
- Goat Simulator 3 - Control goats and do goat things in this open world adventure sim. The possibilities are endless. The digital version is available now! A physical version will release in November 2024.
- Worms Armageddon Anniversary Edition - Control the heavily armed garden bugs once again in this remake of the 1999 classic for consoles! Releases on Sep 26 2024
- SpongeBob SquarePants: The Patrick Star Game - The oceans the limit in this surprise trip to Bikini Bottom. Control Patrick Star and steal the show as you go on wacky adventures under the sea. Releases on Oct 4
- Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land - An alchemy themed JRPG. Step into the shoes of Yumia as she confronts her past in an open world fantasy land. Releases in early 2025
- Suikoden I&II Remastered - A remake of two legendary RPGs. Build your base, expand your sphere and recruit numerous allies including a dog! Releases on Mar 6 2025
- Disney Epic Mickey Rebrushed - Another remake, step into the shoes of Mickey Mouse himself as he explores a world of forgotten Disney characters. Armed with paint and thinner, restore beauty to this wasteland. Releases September 24
- Funko Fusion - Bring all of your favorite pop culture figures together in an ever-changing playground based on Funko pops! Releases Holiday 2024
- Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma - In this reimagining of the iconic series, call upon the forces of nature to restore the land and gods of Azuma. As you learn to wield the powers of an Earth Dancer, familiar series staples like farming and romance return. Coming in Spring 2025
