The game is similar to The Legend of Zelda series, in the sense that players are given a quest and have to explore certain areas of the game's overworld using a sword and a crossbow (both being upgradeable during the adventure). Young knight Kingsley, a fox swordsman, is sent to protect the Fruit Kingdom from warlock Bad Custard. The game starts with a cutscene of a puppet show where dark fruit is shown attacking the Fruit Kingdom, then it shows Kingsley; the main character the player controls. This, along with the ending scene and game over screen, are the only cutscenes in the game.

Kingsley is a male fox-cub of unspecified parenthood. He was brought up in Carrot Castle, where the King and Queen of Fruit Kingdom reside. Kingsley's fighting ability and athleticism have been carefully nurtured by his mentor Old Wrinkle, who also taught Kingsley's father, allegedly. Kingsley's knightly moves include a ninja back-flip and a flying attack. He is able to fight with a range of different weapons, which you'll need to help him find along in his adventure.

Story: "Once upon a time, there was a fox-cub called Kingsley. He lived in Carrot Castle, home of the King and Queen of Fruit Kingdom, and although they brought him up as their son, it was obvious from his unmistakable fox features that he didn't really belong to them. Kingsley knew that his real dad was a brave True Knight who had long since departed the scene. He was proud of him of course - True Knights were the most noble soldiers of the realm after all but sadly he remained a very distant memory."
